Have you ever met someone that was like a reflection of you?

All their inadequacies are the same inadequacies that you have. Watching them function is like a grotesque exaggeration of all the things you are scared of in yourself. Ever nuance that pisses the hell out of you, you realise you do as well. Every time they're passive aggressive, demonstrate their social ineptness, stumble in the dating scene, you wonder if you were ever that bad. Every trick they do to get you to feel guilty, every time they keep to themselves, but you can tell in their eyes...

Have you ever met anyone that was exactly like you, but infinitely more successful? And you wonder, why them and not me? You wonder why you couldn't have been in their situation, with their advantages. I mean, everything they are, you are too. You're just as smart, just as able, just as attractive. Why are they exactly where you want to be, when you're nowhere near.

Would you be able to stand being around that person? If all they did was remind you of who you are and who you could be?
