Five Reasons to Love Rock Climbing
1) It's a complete body workout, exercising multiple parts of the body. It promotes flexibility as well, not just strength and muscle development.
2) It's challenging. Each course is like a mini puzzle you have to figure out how to physically beat. The successful completion of a course is extremely emotionally/mentally rewarding.
3) It's fun.
4) Anyone can do it, you don't have to be good at sports, muscular, fit, tall etc.
5) It promotes partnership and team work. Someone's always down there looking out for you, someone you have to trust. The atmosphere in the climbing circles also seems to be very encouraging and enthusiastic, you'd always find a friendly pro willing to give you a demo or pointers.
As well, even if you're not physically climbing and just sitting there watching, it's so amazingly beautiful and awe inspiring that it's enjoyable just to observe.
Ok, to be fair, here are the cons.
It is sweaty. It is smelly. And yes you will ruin your nails.

Well who cares about their nails?!
That sounds like fun.
